An Afghanistan woman married his rapist who happens to be his cousin's husband

A woman agreed to marry her rapist so that her daughter, who was conceived while she was raped, has a normal family.

The woman in Afghanistan who agreed to marry her rapist, revealed how she gave up all her dreams and hopes to give her daughter a future.

The woman known as Gulnaz of Kabul, was only 16 years old when she was raped by her cousin’s husband and she became pregnant.

Gulnaz was arrested after she was raped by Asadullah.

She was sentenced to 2 years in prison for “adultery by force.” Her sentenced was increased to 12 years after an appeal.

She was no longer accepted into normal society because she “had sex with a married man.”

Asadullah was also jailed for the rape, but his sentence was subsequently reduced after he agreed to marry the teenager.

Asadullah, who did not show any remorse over his crime, insisted that by agreeing to marry her, he actually “saved” Gulnaz from being abandoned by her family and by society.

Gulnaz, who became pregnant from the rape, gave birth to her daughter in the Badam Bagh women’s jail before then President Hamid Karzai pardoned her.

Gulnaz agreed to marry her husband so that her daughter has a normal family life and she is not shamed by her “mother’s action.”

After marrying Asadullah, Gulnaz gave birth to another child and is now pregnant with her 3rd baby.

She said that she does not want to think about the past and she just wants to give her children the best life possible.

Asadullah is still married to his first wife, who is Gulnaz’s first cousin, with whom he has five children. Both of his wives live together and are raising their children in the same house.
